Dad: A Daughter’s First Love

Dear Dad,

THANK YOU!

I know I don’t say it enough and should tell you more than just on Father’s Day. I sincerely appreciate everything you have done for me over these past 23 years. Not a day goes by where I am not grateful to have you as my dad. I also want you to know that even though I’m older now, there will never be a day where I don’t need you.

You were my first love and will always be my number one guy. Every young girl grows up and views their dad as a superhero. For some that feeling fades, but for me, it only grew stronger. As I have gotten older and have come to develop a better understanding of the world, I have also developed a greater appreciation for the man and father that you are.

As a man, I have never met anyone more kind, generous, or hard-working as you. You are not just a role model to me but to everyone in your life. I don’t think you get enough recognition for all the amazing things that you do. I admire you as you truly are one of the best people I know. You make me proud to be your daughter.

As my father, you have always supported me and loved me unconditionally. No matter what has happened in my life, I always knew I could come home and take refuge in your arms. You have shown me what it means to be loyal to your family and steadfast in your faith. You have also never missed a chance to impart some sort of wisdom on me. I may roll my eyes from time to time when you try to tell me things, but I am grateful for everything that you share.

I want to thank you because everything that you have done and shown me has helped me become the woman I am today. I hope that I continue to make you proud and I promise to “bloom and grow forever.” I love you.

Sincerely, Silvana
